Chatting with Bill Marshall Sari Ruda’s Intern with the Jean Jacket on about #NIFF 2015 and plans for Lake Erie’s Children’s Film Festival ideas
the idea girl says
I’m talking to this girl in a jean jacket and I think she’s one of the TV interview crew that is following Bill Marshall around, taking pictures of him and interviewing him with various film producers, directors and screen writers at #NIFF 2014 Niagara Film Fest. So I’m yapping away about my future plans for a children’s film festival for the lake erie areas – fort erie, port coloborne, welland, ridgeway, crystal beach and stevensville – loads of families in the area that love KIDS films.
We don’t have a movie theatre here so we all travel to Welland, st catharines or niagara falls to see a film with our families. Grandpas, Grandma’s, Aunts, Uncles, Brothers, Sisters, Parents, Friends of the Family etc. You catch my drift.
populations along lake erie from fort erie to welland
fort erie 29,960
crystal beach 3,800
port colborne 18,424
Canadian Side by Peace Bridge (fort erie, buffalo)
total population in this area 104,215
Buffalo NY USA (Peace Bridge) 259,384
** port colborne canal days avg attendance 400,000**
So you can see there’s a big draw for music, and vendors, the tall ships and amusement rides in this area.
Add a children’s film festival and you’ll have people from the lake ontario area coming over this way as well.
the whole point is for the full NIAGARA region to benefit from film festivals on both the northern shores of lake ontario and the southern shores of lake erie which will entice many american’s to come over (their dollar is higher now in value)
the funny thing was that she was Bill and Sari’s main assistant so she said she would mention it to them for me. 🙂
