the idea girl says
Anne was sharing about a new grant they are working on for our area at our FSNFE Food Security Network Fort Erie Meeting on 14 Jan 2014.
It’s called the Rural Kids Grant Program. (If you want to find out how to get this in your area in Canada look here)
It provides lunches for kids at the four schools here in Fort Erie, Ridgeway, Crystal Beach, and Stevensville?
it will cost $2.50 per child thanks to donations from local merchants, the only problem is that the grant amount can only provide the first 1200 kids lunches and then it’s done unless we as a community do something.
We will need a steady donation of gift cards for NO FRILLS who has offered to give this program a helping hand.
For $2.50 the kids can get a tuna snack pack, a cup of fruit and a granola bar.
Each lunch will need a bag to be put in whether it be paper or the cloth bags?
I think it would be cool for a corporation to donate the lunch bags with the words “rural kids grant program” on it and then their company logo in the bottom corner. We would ask all in the community to shop or do business with these corporations any way they can to help support their business and help offset the costs of the donations being given to this program.
We help you boost your sales, it makes your budgets look more profitable, and if you play in the stock market your shareholders will be encouraged to invest more into your company. Everyone wins and the kids are going to have full happy tummies so they can do their studies in school better, and not feel those “i’m miserable and whiny because I’m hungry and my tummy is aching for something to eat, ” anymore…
The grant when it goes into action (not sure when) if it was to start in say the month of September it wouldn’t cover any lunches from april to june so we’d need donations to cover those nine months and hopefully should we prove we can run the program here, we can get the grant monies from the government that can provide 1200 lunches which will last us for three months.
If we can get lots of volunteers and some fundraisers, we can do this on our own in the future.
I would suggest some BBQ’s, Bakesales, Pennysales from June to September to help offset the costs. Instead of giving just money you could buy your gift cards at NO FRILLS with your PC Mastercard and rack up those FREE GROCERY Points, so your donation could easily give you $10 to ? of Free Groceries.
We should ask PC Mastercard To give more Points to those that provide donations to their community… Hmm there’s an idea, they benefit, the community programs benefit and the public that participate in these programs will benefit.
contact Anne if you want to volunteer, offer suggestions to get the donations required to get this “fight against poverty” for the children here in “Fort Erie Ontario Canada”.
I’ve posted a note on LINKED to ALL #Stock #market #investors #trades for #corporate #business in #ontario #canada to message Premiere kathleen Wynne on Facebook if you like “the idea girl says” Tax Credit and double points on your retail store cards if you support a local community charity with your donations. 🙂
I need all corporations and business people on my linkedin to let her know it’s a great idea and you can also contact all your local politicians around the WORLD and let them know YOU want that too for your OWN Communities! thanks!

This would be good for all economies and help fight against poverty for every country that participates in these ideas.
