I’m saying to Harry “that man looks familiar” and I cannot for the life of me figure out who he is until someone mentions he’s the Mayor of Fort Erie Ontario Canada. ( I vaguely remembered his face on posters during the election – i don’t follow politics much! lol)

I couldn’t remember his name so someone (won’t mention any names) thought it be funny for me to ask him (is your last name rent a cop?) (sounds like rentakop but it’s Red e kop instead)
Of course they all had a good snicker at my expense. 🙂

Wayne was a good sport and chuckled too which I really liked him immediately because he’s a true “people” person.

He comes across as a humble and caring person which is just what Fort Erie needs right now.
Lots of love and care!
Especially when it comes to those pot holes out there that need fixing before we start bringing in our larger tourism industry…

It was a pleasure to see our local politician clearing dishes, tables, serving people in his community.

It’s the FIRST time I’ve met a mayor that did that!
The second person I did see do the same thing was Wayne Gates at the Christmas Dinner in Ridgeway.

Were lucky here.

I’ve been to other Community Events.

Said hello to the Mayor and got the royal nose up in the air snub attitude and lord have mercy if you’d ever catch them serving anyone in their community!

these two men are setting a GOOD example and other’s should follow suit in all walks of life – politicians, (priests are already helping at St Paul’s (that’s nice too!)and police and firemen and our local community people.

If you want to change your attitudes in your community you have to take the first step and do just that!

so thank you Mayor of fort erie Wayne Redekop and Wayne Gates for doing something I’ve never personally seen a politician do and I’ve been blogging local community news now for about six years…

P.S

thanks to Gina for taking nice clear pics.  Harry had a problem with it. (see blurry pic below!) 🙂
