the idea girl says
the salvation army has several programs that outreach to people with low incomes, homeless, near homeless and refugees coming into canada that are just starting out.
We have a saturday’s luncheon program that ends before summer, and starts up again for fall, winter and spring.
*Harry and I are working on expanding this program with other community assistance programs in Fort Erie, Crystal Beach, Ridgeway and Stevensville so we can have lunches in summer time in the future – some BBQ’s would we awesome!*
so I took a few pics while at the luncheon with people sitting close to us, hope they don’t mind, but I love to capture different facial expressions (my photo blogging is that) some will be funny, some wont be so funny to those caught by my camera shots. If they don’t like it, I’ll remove it. 🙂
Most are pics of me and harry horsing around doing goofy facial pics for fun to amuse my many readers. 🙂
Usually we get vegetables, meat, and dessert, coffee, ice tea to drink. We could use some Juice, Meat, Vegetables, Fruit donations to feed 150 people for each week. Thanks!
Send all donations for this program to Salvation Army – contact Anne.

the mobile outreach food bus goes out every monday all year round in fort erie ontario canada providing healthy sandwiches, soups, pasta dishes, stews, fruit, veggies, water, hot chocolate, coffee to the community people.
Every Monday teams of volunteers gather to to serve those in Fort Erie whom often go unnoticed, or simply cast aside. Food is purchased and prepared and loaded on our Mobile Outreach Unit and regardless of heat, cold, snow or sleet this team begins serving a hot meal to hundreds of residents of Fort Erie.
Stopping at 5 locations throughout greater Fort Erie we are quickly seeing numbers grow to nearly 150 meals served each week. This means over 5,000 meals are being prepared and served to the hungry in our community each year. But it’s not just about the food. The Mobile Outreach Unit is part of the
The Salvation Army’s response to the growing problem of homelessness and near homelessness in Fort Erie. Each week, Andrew Jolley, our Mobile Outreach Worker, spends his time off the truck, interacting with those drawn by the promise of a hot meal in order to help identify the greater needs that exist and how The Salvation Army in Fort Erie can assist or how we can refer them to someone who can.
Currently the stops for our Mobile Outreach Unit Are:
5:00-5:40pm at The Salvation Army, 255 Gilmore Rd.
6:00-6:30pm at Crystal Beach Public School
6:35-7:00pm at Erie Road & Derby Road
