thanks to the generousity of local church volunteers, cooks and servers, the Summer Community Supper continues throughout the summer months in July, August and into Fall, Winter and Spring 2017.
We’d all love to thank those of you who have donated the foods and take home breads, desserts. White Oaks Tennis & Raquet Club in Niagara on the Lake has been donating delicious meals of soup, salads, breads, vegetables, meats, pasta, and desserts?
I’m not sure WHO all donates the foods, so I might be off there, I do know they were mentioned.
So thanks to the WAKIL family for making our fort erie residents happier and filling their tummies with the yummiest of foods.
White Oaks as you know started hosting the #NIFF Niagara Integrated Film Festivals in its early years. It continues to serve our International Guests with superb hotel services, and food services in it’s gourmet style meals.
Harry and I visited them and I got to say hello to a long time acquaintance (Mr. Wakil) who has known me since I was 7 years of age (through my father, Larry Randall he was their main carpet layer and painter when they built their hotels, white oaks tennis & raquet club and their apartment buildings over on Glenridge Ave. So I’m specially excited to find out they were providing these meals! thank you so much, our community is ecstatic that you’ve decided to keep this going through the summer months.
There’s still the Salvation Army Food Banks, St Vincent’s, St George’s and COPE which can still use many canned good donations. So if anyone out there can assist, even if it’s just some fresh vegetables, or fruits. You can drop them off and people can share them.
a 50 pound bag of potatoes can help to feed several families, same with carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, onions, and stables.
They also need toiletries, soaps, shampoo’s, conditioners, body washes donated, toilet paper, paper towels could be useful too!
Thank you to our community for caring and to the people of the churches that come weekly to serve food, wash the dishes, sweep the floors, set up tables, and generally sit down and welcome us with delightful chats!
you are all appreciated and we pray for the lord to reward you all for your goodness!
